Homemade Simple Soup Recipe for Cats

Preparing soup for the cat: how to make it at home and what benefits our furry friend derives from this hot food.

Those who live with a feline are aware of how “picky” these animals are in terms of food, not only for the choice between wet and dry food, but also for the position of the bowl.

In fact, it can be quite difficult to please a feline in the kitchen. However, when it comes to homemade food, very often our four-legged friends tend to get curious. In this article we will see how to give the soup to the cat and above all what are the benefits of this food for our cat.

Cat soup: the benefits for Kitty

When autumn or winter begins, we tend to prepare something hot for us, from broth to minestrone to hot soups.

But can our four-legged friends warm up in the same way? Well yes, not only are soups a way to warm our cat from the cold, but this food has many benefits for our four-legged friend, especially the soup made with meat:

  • Enhance the Immune System;
  • Helps digestion;
  • Useful for cats suffering from arthritis ;
  • Detoxifies the liver;
  • Useful for hydration;
  • Useful for maintaining healthy urinary tract and kidneys;
  • Rich in nutrients.

It is not recommended to offer the soup to kittens, but it is perfect for adult and senior cats. It is also a great food for older cats that do not have teeth, as it is easy to ingest.

Soup recipes for the cat

There are many soups for cats on the market, however if you want to prepare a soup for your furry friend with your own hands, here are two simple recipes.

Chicken soup

Ingrediants

  • 2 Chicken thighs
  • Waterfall
  • 1 stalk of celery
  • 1 carrot

Method

To prepare the chicken soup, you first need to chop the carrot and celery. Then you need to fill a pot of water and dip the vegetables and chicken into it.

Bring everything to a boil and simmer for at least 90 minutes. After the necessary time has elapsed, the soup is ready. It is possible to keep this food in glass jars or in ice trays (for small portions), for a week in the fridge or for 6 months in the freezer.

You can add this soup to your cat’s daily food, or give the cat the single soup with chicken, removing the bones and skin.

Catnip soup

Ingrediants

  • 1 Cup of chicken soup (previous recipe)
  • 3 kennels of catnip

Method

To prepare the catnip soup, you need to reheat the chicken soup, when the latter boils, you need to put the catnip inside and leave it to infuse.

Once the soup has a green color, turn off the heat and let it cool. Then add a small part of the soup to your cat’s daily food and keep the rest in the fridge.
