5 signs that show your cat trusts you

Felines are sometimes difficult creatures to grasp. And for good reason, they are entirely guided by their survival instinct, inherited from their wild ancestors. And for them, trust has nothing to do with love. Thus, it is quite possible that your cat likes you without trusting you. Indeed, for a cat, trust is rarely gained in a few days!

1. It rubs against you

Cats rub against everything they consider to belong to their territory (objects and humans). It’s a way of spreading their scent around so that everything in their environment smells the same. This common and familiar smell reassures them and makes them feel safe.

Thus, if your cat has a habit of rubbing its body against your legs or its head against your head, it is because it “marks” you olfactorily. It knows that It can interact with you safely since you are part of their social group. And believe us, it’s a big mark of confidence.

2. It sleeps with you

In the wild, cats do not sleep just anywhere. Indeed, the moments of rest are particularly dangerous moments because this is when they are most vulnerable. In order to avoid being surprised by a predator, our feline friends have therefore adopted the habit of sleeping in highly secure places.

Therefore, if your cat sleeps with you, it’s because it knows it has nothing to worry about. You do not represent a threat to them, on the contrary, it considers that you will be able to warn them in case of danger.

3. It blinks softly at you

Sometimes you’ll catch your cat staring at you while blinking very slowly. A bit like it was dozing off. In reality, the meaning of this behavior is quite different!

Indeed, it is simply their way of making you understand that it trusts you. While it is usually always on the lookout for the slightest danger, by your side it lowers their guard. To answer them and tell them that you appreciate their gesture, do not hesitate to do the same!

4. It shows you his belly

When your cat shows you its belly, it is knowingly putting itself in a weak position. Indeed, almost all of its vital organs are then exposed. This indicates that it feels safe enough around you to completely relax.

But be careful, if your cat rolls on the ground and shows you its belly, it does not necessarily mean that it wants you to stroke it there!

5. It eats your hand (literally)

A hungry cat will tend to eat more easily from a human’s hand. But your cat lacks nothing. However, if it agrees to eat their food directly from your hand, it is proof that it has no suspicion of you.
